The fine print
From AHS's Refer-a-Friend terms:
"Within 30 days of your submission to the Program, purchase our direct-to-consumer home service plan."

The terms also say:
- You can't live in the same household as the person who referred you
- You can't have your home listed for sale, plan to buy a home soon, or be refinancing
- You must be a legal US resident, at least 18, and not already registered with the program
- Rewards can't be redeemed for cash. If an e-gift card isn't offered, AHS may give the reward in another form.
